A GREAT French restaurant with very reasonable prices; I ate at the one in Washington, DC, but there are two in NYC as well. (www.leshalles.net). The French dip steak sandwich and frites were amazing, and they have a great dessert menu. The crepes suzette were very impressive, they flambed them for you tableside. I would definitely go back.

THE best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to— it was almost impossible to get a reservation even a week in advance. The Spicy creamy crab was memorable, and the squid pasta, shrimp tempura roll, and 2 desserts (bento box and Huckleberry Pistachio maki roll) made it an unforgettable dinner. The service and ambience were impeccable- definitely worth the splurge.

Thai cuisine is my favorite- and this place is the best place for Thai food. It is moderately priced, has a great, fun atmosphere with a reflecting pool, and fabulous desserts! I recommend the Drunk Man’s noodle and molten chocolate cake with ice cream.

This is a great place for a special occasion (I went here on my birthday), and it has all the elements of a fantastic restaurant; great, creative food, patient and friendly staff, and a casual yet intimate atmosphere. the Kobe beef is the best thing on the menu, it’s expensive but worth it.
