One of my top favorites in DC. Wonderful service w/ an array of interesting menu options. I would give Palena a full star rating had it not been for their fish dishes which always seem to fall short for me. Good but nothing out of the ordinary. I have been, however, impressed with all other dishes. Dessert is to die for.

Truly enjoyable… I have to say this is the best seafood experience I’ve had as of yet in the DC area. Great service, a small but interesting choice of menu items, as well as a wide array of wine choices. I started with their oysters (chef’s choice) and followed with their signature dish… a pistachio encrusted salmon. Finished with a hazelnut chocolate mouse over a nutty chocolate cake base which was surprisingly well done.

This is a partial review since I have not yet enjoyed their full menu but from the few appetizers I nibbled on, I’d have to say I’m definitely intrigued. Nice collection of wine and satisfying/relaxed atmosphere.

I’ve been a long time patron at the Tabard… always loved their warm & quirky atmosphere which lends to both formal and informal attire. The food was never a 5 star rating but good for the price. It wasn’t until the past couple of years that I started noticing a fast decline. After a few highly disappointing experiences, I finally gave up. Fish was totally over cooked, presentation was sloppy, service was horrible. It’s too sad! I miss the old Tabard!!
