Came here for brunch. My brother and I were planning to eat at lots of places that day so we decided to just split our food here to make room for more yumminess.
We had the fried chicken with apple fritters. Fried chicken was good but apple fritters… I may just not be a fan of them, so I could have had my meal w/o them. I don’t think I was able to really taste what this place had to offer. I’d go back.
It’s a really cute place and they have photos all over the walls of celebrities that have gone there. Great service—very friendly.
After leaving the restaurant on our way to find the subway we bumped into a TV actress. I didn’t know her but my bro said she was from the series, Girlfriends.

Tip: Phone in your order. Fortunately for me I came just before the lunch rush.
You get to pick what ingredients you want in your salad then they chop it up and mix it for you and voila! I opted for one of their chef-designed salads, Grilled Asian, so I didn’t have to think about ingredients and I was in a hurry. But I did pick my own dressing: extra virgin olive oil. It’s ~9 bucks for a salad but it’s huge portion.

Cheap, tasty and pretty-looking food--what...
Cheap, tasty and pretty-looking food—what more can you ask?? Tried the sunset roll, sesame chicken and shumai, plus complimentary cheesecake at the end. Food came out quickly.
The only complaint I had was the constant checkups by different servers. We just wanted to enjoy our food and not be bothered by somebody who wasn’t even our server.
I definitely would go back.

My brother lives in the area so he was the one who introduced me to this place. People say it’s “eclectic American comfort food” and it is. I always look forward to coming here b/c they have something to offer other than the usual.
The last time I was here I got their Tandoori Chicken Salad, oh delicious! Their Caribbean Pumpkin soup is a must-try!!! My friends and I had their version of the elotes… and they should just leave that to the Mexican vendors of Chicago.
I look forward to coming back here… and soon!

Love breakfast food and nothing beats FILIPINO breakfast food. Actually I wasn’t planning to get their bfast food but it just so happened their grill malfunctioned that morning so no grilled squid or pork for me that day. Instead I had the “tosilog”, which is cured pork meat, garlic fried rice and egg any style (I got sunny side up).
My brother ordered their laing—taro leaves in coconut-based sauce with shrimp and a hint of spicyness. It didn’t look appetizing but don’t be fooled. There was a couple of folks who came in after we’d ordered laing and they kept smelling it. They asked what it was and decided to order same. It was my first time to try “laing” too.

Okay $4 for a cup of hot chocolate, small cup at that, is overpriced. But I would get it again, it’s so filling.
It was my first morning in NYC and rushing to meet some friends at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. I’m the type to have have breakfast so my bro suggested the hot chocolate-to go from City Bakery.
It’s really THICK, rich hot chocolate and, I kid you not, it lasted me from morning ’til lunch time. It would have been good for dipping churros or just plain fried dough. But good for sipping too. Though when I was nearing the bottom of that cup I was feeling a little, just a little, sick to my stomach.

Maybe one of only 2 authentic Thai restaurants...
Maybe one of only 2 authentic Thai restaurants in Chicago. My favorite dish in the entire world: banana blossom salad. I also always get chinese broccoli with fried pork; I think all authentic Thai restaurants carry this dish. Best thai custard I’ve tasted—it melts in your mouth.
My only complaint about this place is the fact that it’s such a small place. If you’re seated right by the door and somebody comes in you get the cold air, which is not fun when you’re trying to enjoy your meal. Otherwise I would have given this place 5 stars.

This is not your Tex-Mex food place that’s why I love it! It’s huge portions and really good food! I had their chicken with mole, and also got to taste their pork dish that was cooked in banana leaves—both were good. But of course I couldn’t finish my dish because anything w/ mole is very rich and strong in taste. I definitely want to go back and try their other menu items.
