Fresh, tasty and un pico autentico

Probably one of the few “authentic” tasting Italian restaurants in Vineland, don’t be fooled by the facade of this building, formerly occupied by a Wawa.
The frescoes, market umbrellas and quaint decor are different enough to make this restaurant stand out from the typical gingham-checked, greasy pizza joint. However, the proof is in the pudding, or in the polenta, as the case may be.
True, all the usual suspects are here; meatballs & spaghetti and chicken fingers for the kids. But this may be the only place in Vineland, or even Cumberland County, where you can get Spaghetti alla Puttanesca and its contemporary cousins, polenta, risotto, and a phenomenal pizza born of wood fire and brick oven. Definitely worth the price, but only if you can tolerate the sometimes deafening noise perpetrated by the lovely tile floors, sometimes inept service and REALLY getting to know your neighbors (and their screaming 3-year old).
But hey, it’s Vineland, not New York – everybody is your neighbor anyway, and you can always get take-out.

Opa! Just like mama never made...

For gyros, try anywhere. But for real mouthwatering moussaka, savory spanakopita and too-die-for tzatziki, you can’t beat this oft-overlooked fixture on Delsea Drive. While the interior leaves a lot to be desired, you’ll spend so much time staring into your heavenly hummus, you won’t care about the dated decor.
Olympia Restaurant has been around for a long time, and for good reason. Consistent, authentic, homemade Greek delicacies that can’t be found elsewhere and a taste factor of 10 make this restaurant a stand-by in my book.
Just GO!

Forget the location: think TASTE!

I don’t care about Tomatoes, I won’t even dignify the casinos with a response. Turn up your nose to this food court resident, and you’ll live to regret it. Fresh, consistent tidbits of heaven are what come to life behind the unassuming counter at Osaka. This locale in the Hamilton Mall doesn’t do justice to the best sushi in South Jersey. This is the best bang for your buck, and after paying more, you’ll wonder why you did.
The sushi rice itself is perfect. The fish fresh and well-prepared. The presentation, while disposable, is pleasant nonetheless. The combo platters are just as pleasing; yummy miso soup, the best ginger-carrot dressing EVER (they’ll even sell it to you by the pint “to-go”), with tempura & teriyaki to rival even the fanciest hibachi house. Don’t forget to tip your sushi chef as the Maneki Neko (lucky cat) waves goodbye!
