Great Lao Food!

Ok so being of Lao decent, I have never been to a Lao restaurant before, so this was pretty exciting to actually find one. Located in a random strip mall in Little Saigon area. The place looks like a hole in the wall that could of been a front of other activities, but once going inside it actually is a decent place. Decor is pretty basic, nothing fancy. Your typical lao thai decorum, plastic tablecloth, side tray with the sauces. gold accents …etc.. etc… They also played authentic lao music which was a plus, it makes you feel like you really are going to have some authentic homemade food.

The menu was a bit confusing to figure out, so my friend and I decided to just ask our waiter directly in Lao. It made it much more easier to make sure we were getting what we were craving. We got the typical lao dishes, beef jerky, chicken curry + potatoes, and last but not least papaya salad (lao style extra spicy hot!!)
All in all our meal was great! They also do catering, which is very helpful for anyone looking for lao food for their wedding or party. I will surely return to Vientiane Thai Laos, nice staff, reasonably priced and great food that reminds me of home.

Dishes I tried:

Normally a main dish for most lao people. This was under the appetizers section. Delicious slightly fried, touch of sweetness, with sesame seeds… yummy. It comes with the lao sauce on the side as well.
