Lucille's a Great Looking destination worth avoiding
Pleasant and rural (particularly if your into the cowboy motif). Upon entry you notice the place isn’t on fire its the lingering aroma of frying oil that’s so thick it looks like smoke. Then the odor hits you in the back of the throat, rancid oil. The menu is simple fried everything food, only the chicken fried steaks and breaded catfish looked and tasted as though prepared in the kitchen. Everything else looked and tasted like it was poured out of a ready to cook frozen product bag. The fries, breaded appetizers, all looked and tasted like Lamb Weston fries and McCain’s appetizers. Now for the good..Two things gave the appearance of being home made; the rolls were very good as well as the chicken fried steak. The gravy tasted like flour as I suspect it was packaged (or should have been). They claim to have been voted as the 5th best restaurant in OK, but they don’t say by whom, I suspect they made that up as the lingering greasy smell would make many a stomach turn. By the way the appetizers were served (hot wings) with the center cooked but still cold, a clear giveaway that the food was “store bought”. The service was poor as I had to stop a waitress serving another table just to get a refill on my tea. This place is NOT worth an hours drive!!
Dishes I tried:
Chicken Fried Steak
The only thing worth ordering on the menu. The portion was large and the breading crispy.
