i’ve been to the aqua grill twice now. my thoughts on restaurants is, try them twice. the first time could have been a fluke. good or bad. give em another shot. well the first time i went, it was recommended by several friends. and i was going to another restaurant around the corner with my fried ashley which had a 2 hour wait. we happened to notice the neon sign for the restaurant and promptly made our way over. they too were booked (friday nite. nyc. no reservation. DUH.). but they have an oyster bar which you can sit at. well 2 seats were open and we jumped on them. the maitre’d was pleasant, helpful and hilarious when we walked in. now as you can guess from the title, they specialize in seafood. the oyster selection is amazing. we ordered martini’s first. i’m not an oyster expert so we decided to let the bar person pick out a varied selection. we also ordered cherry stone clams which were my moms favorite, so those i know. ashley had never had them and she fell in love with em. the oysters were fresh and amazing. the drinks were large and cold. the service is awesome. i left there full satisfied and with a really good buzz.

my friend ashley and her mother and sister came to won this week for a few days and we made plans to go back to aqua grill. well i’m happy to report that they did not disappoint! everything was great. the oysters. the cherry stones. the wine. no martini’s this time. i also had the grilled salmon and sauted spinach. slamon was perfectly done. moist and pink on the inside. portion just right. and again the service was great. tuesdat nite is best because the guy maitre’d works only on tuesdays now. trust me it’s worth it.
