First, let me say this about pizza in general. I have always believed there is no BAD pizza. It’s like sex; some is better than others, but it’s all good.

I have changed my mind.

We have eaten Rick’s Pizza many times in the past. It’s our favorite Lodi Pizza place. About three weeks ago, we raved that it was the best pizza we had ever eaten. The crust was tender, but chewy; the toppings were plentiful, and there was just the right amount of cheese.

About a week ago, we tried Rick’s again. This time, we threw away more than half the pizza, and all of the crust. It was inedible. The crust was thin and so tough, that a steak knife could barely cut it. The toppings were sparse, and there was twice as much rubbery cheese as usual.

We were very disappointed and it will be a long time before we try Rick’s again.
