Unique flavor and decor in a small town

Davis has a lot of nice smaller restaurants. Sure it does have large bigger chains as well, but small establishments like the old teahouse make dining enjoyable in this city.

Teahouse has a good flare of eastern decor. It’s unique as i have never seen another Chinese restaurant decorated so uniquely before. It triumphs over the usual mundane carpeted typical Chinese restaurants you see out there. This place has a great atmosphere, which vibrates with extreme energy as you watch the tv’s blast out foreign asian language programs.

The food is well portioned. flavorful and authentic to my own standards. I love the noodle dishes, especially the beef chow fun dish and the excellent popcorn chicken, with medium spiciness, all washed down with a cold and refreshing milk tea drink. You can add tapioca and geltain and jelly and other stuff that i forgot. But i love the green tea gelatin. It’s texture is closer to jello, yet it has more body and flavor or both sweet and tea tannin to the taste.

A wondrous restaurant that is a must try in the city of Davis.

Dishes I tried:

Beef Chow Fun and Milk Tea drink

A lot of flavor, good beef slices, and the right hint of onion and spices.

The tea was excellent. Not too sweet, not too creamy, just right to the taste.
