Warm Lounge with fantabulous food!

Driving down Irving Park Road, you would never really notice this restaurant. Looks small on the outside, but it’s nice and cozy on the inside. Like one of the other reviewers noted, the colors accent the place very nicely and the furniture makes you feel at home and able to relax. Very cozy and warm, lounge type of restaurant.

My friends and I really did not have much planned one night, so we decided to drive around until we found a place. We stumbled upon this restaurant and I must say I have never had such a great time.

I have been there a couple times since (first time they were having drink specials, and let’s say you can’t ind places to beat the amazing $5 martini). Whether it’s for dinner, or just to grab a couple drinks I would highly recommend this place for a good and relaxing time with some friends.

Waiting staff is great, they cater to your needs and make you feel comfortable, totally relaxed. The food is above and beyond your expectations. Very large portions, so you can doggie bag (which made a nice lunch the next day!) an along the lines of food, for the portion you get, it’s pretty CHEAP, now that’s what I call a deal!

Like I mentioned I have been there a couple times, and haven’t had any disappointment, and will recommend this place to anyone and everyone I know.I will hopefully try all the food that is on the menu, thus far the soups are amazing, especially the red borscht plain and with dumplings or croquette ( a crepe filled with either sauerkraut or meat, lightly breaded and fried, topped off with cheese and green onion!) There is a huge selection of food, whether your looking to satisfy you rsweet tooth (sweet cheese crepe’s, fruit filled pierogis or crepe’s, ice cream, homemade pies, and plenty more.)

I heard that these drink specials is something they might do once a month, which is great with our economy right now… and I am looking forward as to what will be planned there. I also heard that they may be bringing a DJ in once a week or some kind of deal, which should be exciting and I will definitely check it out when I find out, and keep people informed on that too.
:-)

The Pierogi’s are phenomenal!! one of my favorite dishes, and they come in so many different varieties which make it more exciting, because I must say you can’t find this anywhere else!

And the price is for 12 pierogis, your chocie of Russian (potato and cheese), spinach, mushroom/sauerkraut, meat, fruit flavors, and sweet cheese!!

I’m a huge fan of desserts, and I have never came across such rich and decadent desserts., as well as authentic and homemade for sure.

The apple pie was made ala mode, which was just melting goodness in your mouth. There is a layer of graham cracker crust topped with sliced apples and filling, layered with a meringue and strudel.

The cheesecake was so rich, it was with orange zest which just compliments one another so well. I have never had cheesecake like this but the aroma was great. they also had one with raisins that I tried, and I must say, authentic yumminess polish cheesecake!
