I have seen Guapos crowded with diners on a nice summer day and have been wanting to check it out since I live in the neighborhood. It is obviously popular but it didn’t win me over. The menu selection was varied, but on the expensive side. I wasn’t really interested in an elaborate, expensive dish, but simple tasty mexican food.

I got the combination number one – burrito, chile renos, and chicken tamale. It was satisfactory – nothing special. The rice was bland, as were the beans. I can’t say that I was wowed or really interested in returning. My personal philosophy is that if I can make it at home, I will – and most of the menu that was at a comfortable price was fare that I could whip up at home.

The waiter was friendly, but curt. The margarita was tasty.
