Best value for good sushi...
Every day between 5 and 6 pm, individual pieces of sushi are only 1.20 a piece. The sushi is a nice size and always fresh. I cant think of a better value for sushi on the north side. Nohana has become my favorite especially after paying 2.50 or more a piece for sushi in other places that arent as good. The handrools and maki are good too.

Good food but dumpy place
If your not put off by “hole in the wall” type places, then you should try this place. The food is really good. One of my favorites is the hummos topped with meat. The first time I went there, I thought the place was a little scary but Im glad I didnt let it stop me because now I am a regular!

Hit or miss...
I am a regular at this place not only for the fabulous asian grocery store next door but there are certain dishes that I really like such as their lemon beef salad and chicken egg foo young. Their food is primarily Vietnamese but they have a rather large menu filled with food of other asian decents. Ive ordered food from here that I thought was absolutely terrible but when I order something good, its really good so Ive learned not to venture out too much and just order my regular favorites. Definately a hole in the wall dumpy place but the prices are good and there are a few dishes that are worth it.

Best Orange Chicken...
When Im craving orange chicken that is NOT overbreaded and fatty, then I go to Orange Garden to get my fix. The Mongolian Beef is another favorite of mine too which again, is not tough or fatty but lean and tender, the way beef should be! Not to mention that the portions are huge which always makes me happy to have leftovers. I would say the appetizers are mediocre. The crab rangoon and pot stickers are nothing special but Im always satisfied with the entrees.

Ten Cent Hotwings! Need I say more?
Wild Goose has decent bar food. Good burgers, beer battered onion rings and wraps and they have a special everyday that goes on ALL DAY like 2 dollar burgers, friday fish fry…but nothing beats the Monday special, buffalo wings that are only 10 cents a piece! You can choose from mild, medium or hot and BBQ. Great hotwings for a great deal but be careful, they will charge 3.00 for a coke. Almost cheaper to get the beer special…

Sugar Freak Paradise...
Ive gone to Kopi for the carrot cake and Russian tea forever. Even though Im not normally a fan of carrot cake, Ive never tasted anything better than theirs. It is TO DYE FOR and even though the “Russian Tea” is not really authentic ( just earl gray tea with sour cherries in it ) I just love it. Also, the apple pie is worth mentioning because even though Im not an apple pie eater, it is also exceptional and not sickening sweet. One of my favorite places just to get my sugar fix and if I hadnt had enough, I can just go across the street kiddy corner to that awesome swedish bakery for the rest!

Always good thin crust pizza....
Well if you like a good, thin crust pizza and you know that there are those little take out places in Chicago that have really good ones but you dont know which one to try, order from Villa May. Damn good thin crust pizza and as far as the other food, not too impressive. Ive found that most places like this only do pizza well and everything else is mediocre. Also, it is worth mentioning that Villa May had moved their location to to Lawrence just west of Clark so disregard the address above.

Best of both worlds...
Ok, I admit, if I was dying, Thai food would be my last meal. It is my favorite food in the world and sushi comes second. To eat in a place that serves both, is ideal to me. I know that this trend of Thai / Sushi restaurants are growing and I still am not sure whether I favor this place or Kite on Lincoln, but its close. The tuna tataki is one of my favorites and they also do tom kha soup very well.
