Fresh food, clean digs, family atmosphere
Iggy and his mom have a great place! We tried Iggy’s last Saturday because we saw a Gyros $2.99 sign out front. Best $2.99 I’ve ever spent! The gyros were fresh, the meat tasty and tender, freshly sliced onions and beautful red tomatoes, a delicate cucumber sauce (tzatiki?), all snuggled in soft warm pita bread. YUM! My husband tried an Italian beef sandwich that consisted of a generous helping of delicious italian beef, spicy giardino pepper relish you could still feel on your lips 2 hours later, and yummy mozarella cheese all nestled in soft, fresh italian bread (baguette?) that was drenched in this gorgeous au jus! Our friend got a couple of chili dogs that he said were delicious. The chili wasn’t the least bit greasy. It may sound weird, but I love the fact that in the gyros, the veggies were all dry. Sometimes you get sandiches where the lettuce has been sitting in water, then it makes everything else in your sandwich soggy. Everything was freshly prepared and tasted divine.
We saw some regulars come in while we there. Iggy and family were very appreciative of the business, you could tell, and greeted them warmly. The clencher for me was how clean everything was. The bathrooms were spotless, albiet a little chilly, but that’s a minor thing!
Oh, and Iggy’s mom’s baklava was delish! I don’t know if we’ll make a special trip to Edmond to eat there, but if we’re anywhere in the neighborhood, we will head back without hesitation!!!
