While I’ve always been a fan of the pastries and other yummies at the Scholar’s Inn Bakehouse, there’s just something about the City Bakery (a hole-in-the-wall shop on 3rd St. beside Bear’s and across from the School of Music) that had me hooked from my very first visit. ALL of the food is absolutely phenomenal (the espresso eggs and the almond croissants in particular hold special places in my heart) and there’s something incredibly endearing about the Cheers-like “everybody knows your name” atmosphere. CB is always full of music students grabbing a snack or some coffee, and it’s nice to be one of “the regulars.”

Don’t let appearances deceive you — I can’t recommend this place highly enough. :)
