Susie Cakes....great, simple Sweet Tooth Fix

On the run originally to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for my morning coffee fix, I came across a quaint, American-Style bakery with clean, modern white decor and pretty aqua accents labeled ‘Susie Cakes.’ I walked in, smelled the irresistable aroma of fresh, buttery frosting and looked at the display of cute cupcakes and other treats.
The cupcakes are delicious, especially the Red Velvet.

The people behind the counter are eager to get you your sweet tooth fix, kind and caring. I loved the service. Never a line, always one or two people.

I give it four stars though because its a bit much. When Sprinkles Bakery focuses on just cupcakes, they get it right and all of their work goes into fabulous cupcakes. But at Susie Cakes, they make numerous other products and the quality and taste goes down, rather if they would’ve focused only on Cookies and Cupcakes or something and perfected the recipe.

Also, there isn’t much of a selection, I do like vareity. Chocolate cupcakes, red velvet, strawberry, lemon, coconut, lemon…..Sprinkles has Chai Latte, pumpkin, banana, and cinnamon and sugar. I loved oohing and ahhing over the strange flavors.

Back to Susie Cakes, overall I feel four stars is appropriate. Conviently located between Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Subway, a bank, and across from a cutsey upscale shopping place, you can get your cupcakes, lunch, and maybe shop around. Nice location.

Please mark me as helpful! I am new here. :-)

Dishes I tried:

This cupcake was one of my favorites. Wow, it was very moist and the frosting was very buttery and cream-cheesey, smooth and perfect texture. One is enough, as it is VERY filling. I don’t know why Susie (owner, I suppose) calls them frosting filled….I reccommend the redvelet to any chocolate cake lover. Perfect amount of chocolate. I hate a super chocolately red-velvet item.
