Godawful
This was one of the WORST restaurant experiences I had on my recent New York trip. I and a friend went on Inauguration day. We were seated at 8 and ordered immediately as we were very hungry. We got our bread and wine around 8.15. Our order included the Restaurant week special menu and another appetizer and entree.
AFter waiting until 9 pm and having inquired a couple of times our entree arrived! They had totally forgotten our appetizers. Now we had to send our entrees back and wait another 15 minutes for the starter. Then it was 45 minutes before our entree was served at 10pm.
Also we ordered a carafe of wine and it was removed from our table with a good inch of wine still in it.
The fish was mediocre when it did finally arrive and a dessert billed as a flakey cream and fruit filled pastry was a dry scone with a teaspoon of piped creme and 4 blueberries in the top.
Just unacceptable. Sorry place.

Fetabulous!
I had the most amazing lunch here. An enticing warm and soft pita filled with grilled shrimp and the freshest of veggies, accompanied by the most outrageously good french fries , crispy outside mouthwateringly soft inside topped with a generous sprinkling of feta cheese.
They do the same for lamb. chicken and falafel along with a perfect Greek salad. Unlimited lemonade, iced tea etc. make this a lunch to remember, I can’t wait to get there for dinner.

Dinner Saturday April 4
Got there at 9.30 after the movie. We got the only table left. there we 3 birthday parties going on. Despite that we were served immediately. The appetizers, one shrimp, one beef with two different sauces were lovely, the main dishes, my grilled chicken with sticky rice and mango salad and my husbands pork dish were wonderful.
You must try the coconut ice cream.
The food here is crisp and fresh, the presentation is a feast for the eyes and the price is more than reasonable. I recommend it highly.

One word, Fabulous
My husband and I went to Joule for the first time at around 9 o’clock on a Saturday night, without reservations. It was packed, but with 2 seats at the bar which we gladly took, because the bar overlooks the kitchen and we enjoy watching food preps.
Over our glass of wine we discussed the menu while we saw several wonderful concoctions being created.
The chefs were calm and zen like in their careful cooking and plating of each dish.
Dishes I tried:
Whole dorade
A whole dorade (dorado/snapper) cooked on the grill with sweet and sour eggplant. This was exquisite, the fish perfectly cooked, white and succulent with a roasted lemon on the side and this wonderful eggplant. The chef in front of us explained the contents and preparation.
Every dish was a taste sensation.
We will be back, regularly!
Grilled prawns
Another dish my husband had was just perfect also, we ordered a side of cauliflower with raisins and spices that too was wonderful.
Joule box and sorbet
For dessert we had a ‘Joule box’ which we had seen the preparation of and were intrigued. It consisted of a bed of tapioca on which is laid a row of pink grapefruit slices, sprlnkled with brown sugar and torched to a crisp carmelized top. Also the rhubarb and ginger sorbet, a delightful end to a memorable meal.

Foget Bland!
With a subscription at Intiman Theater in Seattle we are always trying out new restaurants, my husband is an avid fact checker and read one review of 10 Mercer that said the food was good but bland. My husband does not do bland! Anyway, I persuaded him to try it on Saturday.
The food was wonderful. tasty and delightfully plated. The staff were attentive, asked us if we were seeing a show and knew the start time for each. The $25 three course special was so reasonable and the wine choice my server suggested was perfect for the meal I ordered. The maitre’d or owner, don’t know which, came over and checked on our enjoyment of the meal and asked if we needed anything at all. I recommend this restaurant highly for the food and the service were perfection.
Dishes I tried:
Posole
Great spicy prep full of scallops and prawns in a wonderful hominy thickened soup.
Wild green salad
Wonderful fresh greens with small slices of grilled pear and pink grapefruit, candied nuts and a Stilton vinaigrette. Very tasty start.
Fresh Halibut on Udon noodle
A perfectly cooked halibut fillet atop a medley of fresh vegetables and Udon noodles amid a fragrant broth. Light, but filling for a summer’s eve.
Grilled pork tenderloin
My German rooted husband loved this dish, the pork was tender and flavorful and he raved about the spaetzle, a little heavy for me put perfect for a meat and potato loving guy.
Dessert
As part of our 3 course meal we both enjoyed dessert. I had the custard which was a creamier version of Creme brulee with a burnt sugar crust. He had the profiteroles with vanilla ice cream. A sweet ending to a most enjoyable meal.

OOh la la
I have been coming to Le Pichet for my Sunday Brunch for 3 years. I have been eating the same dish with relish and have never been disappointed. I start with the mimosa, you can’t beat French Champagne and fresh squeezed orange juice. Then I have the oeufs plat. A thin slice of ham, Gruyere cheese and two eggs broiled in a small oval casserole with a crusty bagette. Heaven! The brioche with fresh homemade peach jam is good enough for dessert, followed by the perfect cappuchino. You’ll believe you are on the banks of the Seine. Sunday they have music at 2pm to round off your perfect brunch. Get there early though, it’s not a big place.
