Kinza Terriyaki

Jul 3, 2008 Link

Don't waste your time

The normal decor of Japanese geishas and jade plants make this a quaint if cliche terriyaki restaurant. It would be tolerable if the food had an taste whatsoever. Don’t waste your time here, go to the Subway down the way.

Horrid! There was absolutely no flavor in this dish! It was like eating sand. For $7 there should have been some good sized beef in it as well, but there were about seven tiny child-bite sized pieces. I don’t know if they just don’t use any flavoring on this dish or if they cook all their meals like that but it was not enjoyable at all.

Ocean Palace

Gourmet Chinese

Very classy restaurant to go. If you want a meal in a place that has some taste (pardon the pun) you should check out Ocean Palace. My family has been going here for years and we love it. The decor is beautiful with white and gilt columns, pottery, and a majestic ship made out of jade gracing the dining area. The people are extremly nice, especially the owner and they aim to please.

This appetizer is usually what I get on Tuesday nights for dinner. It is hot, creamy and delicious. The sweet and sour sauce it comes with is pretty spiffy too.

Awesome little hole in the wall

This place is great! It used to be a place where all the hunters and loggers used to go and now everyone goes there. They have homemade ice cream which they use for their milkshakes, huge hamburgers, and homemade pie. Great place to go with the kids.

A regular hamburger with just the goop dressing is great.

Wonderful steak dish. Has a nice smoky flavor to it, cooked to perfection. Can be eaten alone, or on tortillas. Strangely, I like to dip mine in sour cream.

All Wrapped Up

Great coffee and scones

All Wrapped Up opened when I was in high school and let me tell you it was the place to be. Everyone that is anyone in Monte was there for blended mochas and homemade scones for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon snack. The place is fun, chic and charming. All the girls are nice and very helpful, and the owner is present in the day to day things. Definitely a small town place and one that I really enjoy.

This triple berry scone is the best I’ve ever tasted, warm or cold it bewitches your tastebuds with a burst of berry flavor that is unrivaled by any other and washed down with cream homemade cream cheese frosting.

Geppetto's Italian Restaurant and Sports Bar

Apr 2, 2008 Link

Great local pizza parlor

Geppetto’s has been around since I was a kid, I can remember playing in the video arcade and eating pepperoni pizza. This place has a great selection to choose from, whether it is a local special like the Hotcha Gotcha pizza or an old favorite like Fetticine Alfredo. The chicken salads are do die for with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, bacon, olives and hot, garlic bread sides. (I eat these salads on average 3 times a week) While the food is great the service is not always very fast but it is always delicious so it’s worth the wait.

This is my favorite menu item. The salad is huge with tons of yummy items on it like shredded cheese, black olives and crumbled bacon. Top it off with some ranch dressing and a side of garlic bread and I am one happy camper.

Route 66 Pizza

Jan 25, 2008 Link

Great pizza

I first tried Route 66 last summer with a bunch of friends after kayaking down the Carbon. We were so hungry after being on the river all day we stopped in for some pizza. It was delicious! At first we thought it tasted so good just because we were starving so we went back to try it again. Still amazing! This place is the best pizza I’ve ever had, the garlic fries and cheesy bread are wonderful as well. This place is so great that even though I live 2.5 hours away from it, we still like to go after work.

Who knew that pineapple added to fried rice could be so good? This rice has a light smoky flavor, add that to the cashews in it and you have one great tasting meal.

Thai Carrot

Best Thai food ever

While my opinion may be a bit biased (I used to work here) I think they have the best Thai food and the prices are crazy low. The owners themselves serve food, and whenver there is a problem they handle it personally.

Peanut Sauce Thai Cuisine

Jan 25, 2008 Link

Great Thai food

This restaurant is the only other Thai place I will go to other than my favorite. They have such a wide variety of dishes and everything tastes amazing. I stopped by just to try it and now I’m addicted. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and they remember faces very well. The restaurant itself is great, they have beautiful paintings on the walls, soft music playing in the background and just a very welcoming atmosphere. I love this place and always find an excuse to go.

This is the best Tom Kha I have ever had. It has such a unique flavor to it, I have never been able to find anything like it. This is the only restaurant I will eat Tom Kha at.
