Enjoyable!
I’ve seen some bad reviews of this restaurant on other sites, but I had a very pleasant and delicious dinner at La Tomate. I ordered the Farfalle Prosciutto e Funghi and loved it. My fiance ordered the Trenette Nere “La Tomate” and wasn’t as impressed.
The service was fine, as in nothing astounding, but no beverages in my lap either. The food came relatively quickly, too. I think I remember the appitizer, the Prosciutto e Mozzarella Fresca, being a little lack-luster, but I can’t be sure.
In closing, I would definately return here, but mainly becasue the Farfalle Prosciutto e Funghi was just delicious.
Dishes I tried:
Farfalle Prosciutto e Funghi
It was amazing! I really like cream sauces, and the prosciutto added this great flavor.

Tasty and fun!
I visited this restaurant on a Friday night, and it only took about 15 to 20 minutes to be seated with a party of four. The place seemed very lively and loud, too—I wouldn’t come here for a romantic evening.
The food was really great. It was a rather adventurous meal, but I felt that my entire party was well-accomodated. For example, we had a vegetarian and a well-versed foodie in our party, and everyone left satisfied.
I really enjoyed having good English beers on Tap.
Dishes I tried:
Roasted Bone Marrow and a Parsley-Shallot Salad
Our waiter said this was like a “beef foie gras”. It’s tasty, greasy fun. My foodie friend ordered it and shared.
Crab on Toast
Best idea ever.

A great spot for Breakfast & Lunch
The bagels here are tasty, but a little small compared to some NYC bagels I’ve had recently.
I come here for the lunch sandwiches with fresh and tasty ingredients. The service is always quick and they always friendly, if not a bit brief.
Certainly visit for breakfast or lunch, but be sure to have cash on you, as they don’t take credit cards. There is an ATM in the place, but I can’t remember which branch it is from, which makes me think that it’s not widely known to begin with—skip the ATM fees and bring cash ahead of time. $10 should do it!
Dishes I tried:
Turkey Avocado
Sliced turkey, fresh avocado, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, mayo on a fresh bialy—delicious! I live for these things.
