tishtacular "You can't be late until you show up."

I am 24, in Washington DC, and I work as a journal assistant for OSA. In my free time, I like to play piano, sing, read, play video games, cook and bake, and hang out with my fiancé and our kitties. I am a bit of a foodie.

Awesome.

The pizza is great, but so is everything else! On my trips to 2 Amys, I enjoy ordering the Supli a telefono, Polpettine al forno, and a glass of their fizzy red wine (I can’t remember what the name of it is).

The cheese and meat trays are excellent here, too—the proscuitto is to die for, especially paired with the mozzerella di bufala. The sheep ricotta and arugula just great, too.

There is seriously too much good food here, and I haven’t even started mentioning specific pizzas yet! Try it all, really. It’s worth it.

Dishes I tried:

These are only appetizers, but I order them EVERY TIME I’m at 2 Amys. Supli is mozerella wrapped around risotto, then breaded and deep fried. Can life really get any better than that?

American Fare

Sometimes, in DC, all of the wine lists and $20 appetizers can be dizzying. Where’s the elbow grease and good old American know-how to find a decent burger?

You can find it at the American City Diner, decorated with pictures of Marilyn and snappy comic lines. If you’re looking for a postmodern interpretation of American tradition—“those were the days”—come to the American City Diner. At 8pm every night, there’s a free movie!

Also, definitely order the milkshakes. Out of this world.

Dishes I tried:

A milkshake from American City can totally be a meal. I love a good vanilla shake, and this is a good vanilla shake. My fiancé claims the tastiness of the chocolate with the same vigor.
