As a local who has been to Spike’s dozens of times through the years, I was extremely disappointed with my last visit. MY linguine and white clam sauce was smothered in oregano and had no other taste. When I told the waitress it didn’t taste right, she snapped at me saying it was too late to take it back to the kitchen since i had eaten the 4 baby clams on top. She finally obliged by slamming my dish on the counter when she took it back. I then had to practically beg her to take it off my bill. She sent the manager out and he was even more rude, exclaiming that they never use oregano in anything! I find that hard to believe, and I was shocked at how I was being treated as a customer. I should have known better, when I had to throw out 3 pounds of steamers that I picked up from there a few weeks ago. They smelled so rotten I my family and I had to throw them all away.
