:oD Good review ILoveToEat. I agree. I love the way the meat is prepared. Some of the meats were melt in your mouth. There were a couple types of meats that I wasn’t excited about, but were still good. Yes, the salad bar could fill you up and the wine was the best wine pairing I’ve had yet. Save room if you can for dessert.

They were also accommodating for our babies and I appreciated that.

Make sure you don’t eat earlier in the day. There’s just no point. Delicious!

Greasy Spoon Deliciousness

If I was stranded in a deserted island and I can have only one dish, I would probably say Cantonese Beef Chow Mein—Actually, it’s between that and strawberries and poutine. :o)

I find most of the restaurants here call the dish Beef Pan Fried Noodles. They fry the noodles crispy just how I like it, and all I want on top is beef, bok choy or Chinese broccoli with the sauce. You need a little hot sauce on top and my favorite has to be the chili oil. We order that every time we go and we usually order Shimp in Spicey Salt (Shell Less) and another dish. The food is tasty, the service is efficient and the waiters and owner are friendly.

This is not the best Chinese greasy spoon I’ve had, but it’s the best so far in Los Angeles that I’ve been to.

I love this dish. If you ask them to put the sauce on the side it’s even better.

You have to try some Filipino baked goods.

Red Ribbon Bake Shop is a Filipino bakery which originated in the Philippines in 1979. When you visit the bakery here in Carson, you will see a variety of delicious cakes, sweets, savory foods and drinks. My favorites are Mamon which is a light, fluffy sponge cake with a little bit of cheese on top; Taisan which is a light, sponge cake buttered loaf; Polvoron with Pinipig and Chicken Empanadas. If you want a dessert drink, you should try the Halo Halo. It’s really rich, sweet and yummy—Interesting textures you will find if you’re a first timer.

I recommend visiting Red Ribbon. Filipinos really love food, especially their sweets.

Not Blue about Baby Blues Bar-B-Q

I’ve been wanting to eat here for over a year. Things just kept coming up and finally this past Saturday I ate there. OMG, what an idiot I was for not trying this sooner. Simply good bbq.

We had the Memphis Queen which is 1/2 baby ribs and 1/2 Memphis ribs, Mac N’ Cheese (not your regular kind), Blues on the Cob (not your regular kind either), Carolina-Style Pulled Pork Sandwich and Key Lime Pie.

We ordered for delivery. The food and service was great. Mind you, I haven’t eaten at so many bbq places, but I can honestly say you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to eat there again.

Best cream puffs ever!

Our family have been loyal Beard Papa’s fans for a couple years now. We love it. At one time, my husband bought 14 dozen cream puffs for his crew. They all loved it and some other loyal Beard Papa’s followers were made that day.

Our all time favorite is the vanilla custard. It’s light, creamy, perfectly sweet, delicious. I can go on with how yummy this thing is. It’s so good.

If you are reading this and haven’t tried it, I suggest you go out today and treat yourself to a Beard Papa’s cream puff. You’ll be happy and in cream puff Heaven. :o)

Cheese rolls rock!

I love this place. I wish it was closer. I was going to have them cater a party because I love a lot of their foods. Too bad the party had to be canceled.

My absolute #1 favorite is their cheese rolls. These flaky and sweet pastries filled with sweet cheese. It’s so good. It’s so addictive, you just can’t have one. They also have it with guava and that’s good too.

Their sandwiches are great. I love the Cuban Sandwich. They have Meat Pies, Potato Balls, Chorizo Pies, Ham Croquettes…I can go on. So far everything I’ve tried is really good.

The place is always packed. I suggest going early on the weekends. And don’t forget to pick up some of their freshly baked breads. Delicious!
