I don’t think I have ever given the coveted five stars to anyone, but King Taco TIME and TIME again has never ceased to light up this palette with bold, savory, spicy goodness.
Try the combination burrito with carne asada and hot sauce, tacos with hot sauce, flautas with hot sauce… basically anything that can be a vehicle for the salsa roja is a good thing. Never had anything like it.
The carne asada is probably the juiciest, most succulent carne asada I’ve ever had.
Their restaurant is clean, and very close to Fuller Seminary and right on the edge of Old Town Pasadena. Definitely give this one a shot if you like spicy food.

Forgot to add that I have tried the Air Jordan (Fresh Tomato and Basil), the Al Bundy (Sundried Tomato, Feta, Whole Roasted Garlic Cloves, and Basil), and the Wrigley Field (Grilled Chicken, Whole Roasted Garlic Cloves, Pesto, and Feta). All EXCELLENT.
And they are open until 10, and take dine-in orders over the phone… and when I was there at 9:15pm, they were still packed. I see business people here all the time.

After the famous one in Taipei, this restaurant truly follows suit… after probably having hundreds of Xiao Long Bao in my lifetime, this place has the most delicately prepared, succuluent, juicy dumplings with a great depth of flavor.
Appetizer plates are flavorful (try the Shanghai one), and they also have very light versions of traditional Taiwanese comfort food, Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, Pork Chop Fried Rice, and Sauteed String Beans.
The 8-flavor rice and Red Bean dumplings make for a great dessert…

Best Indian food I have ever had…
Tikka Masala is creamy/sweet without being heavy, Biryani is amazing, Naan is super light and crisp, Vindaloo has a great kick, and all the vegetarian dishes are tasty.
The service is really courteous, and the owner is a good man.
I come here over and over and over again. If you are in the area for Pink’s hotdogs, forego the hyped-up, overpriced hotdogs and just have some great Indian food instead.

This time, I had the Sesame Sauce Ramen with Minced Pork, or Tan Tan Men. This is the same thing that Sarah Lin had when we were in Japan together at a train stop Ramen shop.
This place isn’t the cheapest, but it will definitely fulfill a craving.
I just wish some place had Curry Ramen!

The bread is freaking unbelieveable. Flavor-wise, 5 stars. Anyone who disagrees should be shot.
Price is not the best: Turkey/Bacon/Avocado for $6.99, but not really anything to complain about considering the greatness of the sandwich. It closes early… open pretty much only for lunch hours.

Free Wi-Fi.
For those who aren’t coffee fanatics, they have great blended drinks too—Mocha freeze, Green Tea freeze, and Fruit Smoothies… I have a friend who wants to drive down from San Francisco just to have the Coconut Mocha Freeze again.

Spicy chili oil dishes galore! True Szechuan cuisine with no compromises… the sauces are incomparable. Noodles, pork, tofu, hot pot, and the popular Szechuan-style string beans; for the 1st generation Chinese, they have authentic stuff like pork intestines and blood (SO not for me).
But everything else… awesome. Price is $10-15 a head.
