Jean Claude has got to be one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. I absolutely LOVE the skate here even though it hasn’t always been uniformly flavored throughout the years. All their fish dishes are decent, but perhaps French food is not for everybody. This is a great place to bring a date as the environment is quite dim and cozy, or just catching up with a friend or two over some wine. The only one complaint I have is that kids will probably not enjoy the food here as my little cousins didn’t, and that Jean Claude does not take credit cards. But fret not, it’s not very expensive either.

One of the spots I frequent regularly. It’s a best bet for me because it’s close by and I know when’s the best time to go so that I don’t have to wait half an hour to get seated. Also helps to go in groups under 5. You have to take your shoes off, but I don’t mind. Stick to the BBQ, they’re not really known for their sushi.
