guaranteed satisfaction

Great prices, fresh product, authentic taste, relaxing environment, and above all, selection. This restaurant has been on the top of me and my girl’s restaurant list for the past 2 years.
Upon your first experience at this place, not only will the tatami floor (where you have to take off your shoes and basically sit on the floor) intrigue you, but the menu itself brings something to the customer that many other Japanese restaurants attempt to accomplish but lack completely. Besides the obvious teriyaki and sushi plates, Honda-Ya offers a variety of constantly changing specials, a grill menu (our personal favorite, where they charge you per stick at a very affordable price running between 1 to 5 dollars), large selection of drinks, and a great desert to top it off.
Honda-ya is the type of restaurant someone would take a date if they were trying to impress the other person with their great taste, rather than with a deep pocket.

Dishes I tried:

Pork belly, chicken gizzard, cow tounge

As nasty as these items sound, they are featured in the grill menu. Each stick running around 3 dollars. Accompanied with rice, these sticks are wonderful. trust

GOOD FOOD, LATE HOURS

The food doesn’t have that authentic chinese taste, but they sure come close. Not too expensive, food isn’t bad, staff is friendly. I personally never ate at the restaurant itself, but have used the delivery service once, and pickup various times. The delivery was kind of slow, but it was a saturday night. The food wasn’t hot, and whatever was suppose to be crispy, ended up being halfway soggy. If you eat from this place, I suggest you pick it up yourself just to ensure a good looking meal.

5.99/lb lobster? oh yes

This place is the place to go if you are looking for a lobster fix. Besides serving lobster at a cheap price of 5.99 a pound, they have like 5-6 flavors/ways of cooking it. The obvious favorite is the ginger with scallions sauce and this place is one of the best. Good service, nice restaurant.. They have great dim sum as well.
