Best seafood restaurant in Boston, period. I would not hesitate to bring visitors here to enjoy fresh, perfectly cooked fish and other seafood. They also have an awesome raw bar with a large variety of oysters on the half shell. Okay, I say EVERYTHING is good. That’s how much I dig this place.

The sushi here is fresh but rather pricey, so I tend to stick to the cooked dishes, which they do very well. I often have the lunch specials, which range from tempura to una-don (eel on rice) to soba noodles to grilled salmon. Unlike many other Japanese restaurants in the area, the cooked food is of very high quality and not too greasy or over-seasoned. It may be a little pricey to visit on a regular basis, but definitely a nice place to enjoy a quiet dinner once in a while. Try the dobin mushi (teapot soup) if you’d like to try something different (but yummilicious!).

Decent hole-in-the-wall thai restaurant that serves up spicy and flavorful food at decent prices. Tends to be a little heavy on the seasoning, but on the whole, a good place to check out if you’re in the vicinity. Free tea is a bonus. By the way, dishes are cooked REALLY fast…they must have some supermen chefs in the back.

The food here is pretty decent, but certainly not great. The tapas at Taberna de Haro in Brookline are more authentic and tasty. However, Dali is an excellent place to hang out over a few small bites with friends. The ambiance is great – dimly lit and cozy, although a tad noisy.

It’s easy to miss this place – a dark window front located in a quiet area just off bustling Harvard Square. We decided to try their $50 tasting menu (offered on weekdays) on a special occasion, and were rewarded with one of our best meals ever. The corn, blueberry and goat cheese salad remains forever etched in my memory as one of the most delicious things that I have ever eaten. Super fresh local produce is combined creatively resulting in dishes bursting with color and flavor. A must-try.

Everytime I rmention Ruth’s Chris to someone, they dismiss it as ‘just another steakhouse chain’. Yes, it may be a chain, but who cares so long as they do a mean steak. I’ve been here twice for lunch, and twice I’ve enjoyed a perfectly cooked and succulent piece of meat in a very quaint setting. The sides and dessert were nothing great, but I was there for a good juicy steak and a good juicy steak I got. Give them a shot.

We had dinner here over Restaurant Week, which may be why the food did not live up to my expectations. The menu was certainly well thought out and sounded great, but the execution was just so-so and the flavors felt a bit flat. My friend apparently had the best fries he’d every tasted, so perhaps the kitchen was simply overwhelmed with RW customers. The dining room was very elegant – definitely a great place to take a special date.

Definitely try the weekend Taiwanese dim sum here! Very fresh and piping hot food. The chinese fried dough (crullers) are very light, probably the best in the Boston area. The place itself feels quite modern and clean, and service is not too bad. They open for brunch at 1130am, but the line starts forming at 11am…so get there early! On the whole, the food is worth the trek out to Watertown/Newton. However, I personally prefer the brunch at Shangri-La ( in Belmont).

Came here for their afternoon tea. Very good selection of high quality teas, but the quality of the tea sandwiches and pastries were lacking. Great ambiance and view (overlooks the Boston Public Garden) makes this a pretty nice place to spend a cozy afternoon with the girlies (or with mum).
