I love all types of food! Am always on the lookout for the new, undiscovered, etc. Am particularly fond of Chinese, German, Italian and Mexican. And, I take a special interest in bakeries: cupcakes, pastries, cakes, pies, breads, etc.

West Coast Whoopies & Cupcakes
Sep 6, 2008
Not worth it
A friend of mine brought in some whoopies from WCW a few weeks ago and I was eager to try them. The cakes were far too dense and the filling was far too thin. The cake was too heavy, squeezing the filling out when the two shells are put together and the filling was far too think to support the dense cakes. They looked like a disaster. I saw WCW at the L.A. County Fair this weekend and gave them another try (only because their booth was under a different name – Heavenly something or other). After I purchased a whoopie pie and cupcake and found out they were WCW, I wanted to ask for my money back, but I gave them another chance. Despite all of the whoopie pies that were on display at the Fair were mashed and not visually appealing at all. I shelled out nearly $8 for a whoopie pie and cupcake and tried to give them another chance. We ate the ‘carrot cupcake’ and it was basically a yellow cupcake with a ‘few’ shreds of carrot in it. Extremely disappointing. Same with the whoopie pie. The cake was hard and dense and the filling was awful. I’m sure the folks on the East Coast would be mortified to know this is how whoopies are represented here on the West Coast. Save your money.
