Not to be labeled bitter .. however , when at Gervais , Shekoh made enemies out of everyone in the neighborhood. Lunch was stopped because she couldn’t handle the stress. Then, when it came to negotiating on banquets, even in the very beginning, when things were desperate, she wouldn’t take anything less than $ 95.00 per person.

On top of that , in about the first four months , she was " exhausted " , and took entrees , silver ware , glasses etc off the table of the people down the street that ran a wine / liquor store and dumped it all in the garbage ! They had not even eaten half of their entrees ! When this occured , they had been on a tour of the restaurant with her husband Mark when Shekoh became enraged , and threw one of her very typical tizzies. Of course, they were gracious in response to her meltdown. Even so, passing by on a Sunday afternoon, they couldn’t be persuaded to give her and the restaurant a second chance.

Did I mention that as a result of her unpleasantness towards everyone, in the first few days , the owner of the place next door soaked the patio , linens and all !

Plus , one evening the people that resided in the apartment upstairs came in for dinner , and wound up subjected to listening to Shekoh scream at the top of her lungs from the kitchen, which could be heard throughout the restaurant !

Then there was the evening when a plastic fifty cent ear piece for the servers radio appeared after being lost . Anyone standing across the street could hear her giving her husband a dressing down.

Other highlights when dealing with her are that she believes that every breathing female wants to climb in bed with her husband ( one lady she apparently fired for being able to make out a thong worn underneath her pants ) , she fired almost every server at Gervais after one day , and every person that worked along side her in the kitchen walked out.

In one instance, an Asian gentleman had enough of her foul mouth, and left. She proceeded to call the police and tell them he threatened her life when that never happened. In reality, he let one four letter word slip , strode out of the kitchen , got in his car and drove away. The police arrived , concluded that she was exaggerating and departed within about ten minutes.

And, don’t be fooled , Shekoh does not like people at all according to her statement at Gervais during a Sunday brunch. She made that remark sitting in the room to the left in Gervais if you were to be in the front of the restaurant facing the street.

While there , she even made a point of never chatting with any of the guests.
Along with cornering the market when it comes to anger , Shekoh enjoys sticking her fingers in the soup to taste it without ever washing her hands, and dropping filets and other food on the filthy kitchen floor , picking it back up , and continuing to cook.

When it comes to money , what has been said by her husband is that her brother owns some hotels in Los Angeles and is the funder of Shekohs doings.
Where Shekoh falls short, her husband ( who, by the way is ten years her junior ) , makes up for that. His talent , from taste to presentation, with pastires , is extraordinary.

Additionally , where she is falling apart, he is down to earth, calm , patient , and nice from the inside out. Perhaps it is his mid western roots ..

Oh, her favorite drink ? A cosmo ! Her husband is always asking people NOT to serve her cosmos ! I wonder why ?! That’s sarcasm, in case you didn’t get that.
