This is the local coffee shop that I go to – maybe three times a week. It’s a small place, about 8 or 9 tables, but the atmosphere is awesome. They’re always playing classical 102.1, there’s free wireless Internet, and the owners are simply fantastic. Always willing to talk, super courteous, and they know many of their customers by name. I love the coffee (try the special blend of the day), and their bagel sandwiches (my personal favorites: Kermit’s Lament and Jersey Shore). Stop on by, and tell them Jason sent you!

Standard issue Chinese lunch special – how can you go wrong for $3.50 for rice + two items? My go-to combination is rice + fried whole shrimp + eggplant/tofu/chicken bonanza. Plus, there’s free tea, and if you’ve got a hankering for Dim Sum, they’ve got an affiliate next door. Pork and Vegetable Bun is one of my personal favorites there. A definite place to go when you need some cheap, fast, and tasty chinese food. Be prepared – it’s not about the ambiance, but about the food.

Marcia and I went here last night, and we were not disappointed in the least. We showed up at 6pm (after a small parking hunt) to find a quaint place with courteous staff, and they seated us immediately right by the window. They gave us a starter on the house, a cream cheese ball coated with nuts topped with a fig. Fantastic! Then it was followed by a fresh, warm ciabatta roll with three kinds of butters to choose from – score number two! For our entrees, we ordered the cheeseburger and fries and the hanger steak. The patty was clearly a notch up from your normal burger, thick, juicy, and satisfying. Fries were perfect, and it came with house-made ketchup. Then the steak – yes, the steak was super juicy, grilled to a perfect medium, and came with a crepe filled with bacon and potatoes. Oh yeah. And the environment was just excellent. Highly recommended.
