Hotel Restaurant
A group of fellow diners decided to try out the new 414 Bar + Kitchen located inside the Cambria Hotel. I stopped at the bar first and chatted with the bartender who turned out to be our server as well. The drink menu had some Milwaukee related names as I opted for the Bronze Fonz Mule. The dining area was small, and they didn’t take reservations. I was a bit worried, but our server mentioned that we were the only group so far that was dining there that wasn’t actually staying at the restaurant. The décor was very modern and eclectic. Even though our server was handling the bar and the restaurant, it didn’t take away from our service. The food came out of the kitchen hot and at a good pace. The food was good.
Dishes Tried:
Iceburg Slice Salad
Salad came with tomato, egg, bacon, grape, scallion, bleu cheese, balsamic vinaigrette. The salad was more than a slice, but rather half a head of lettuce. Good combination.
Smothered Angus Beef Sliders
short rib, cheddar cheese, white onion, horseradish aioli, pickle chips – came with fries, but only 2 sliders. Thought it was a bit pricey for 2 sliders. Good, but not oustanding.
