Don't Believe "Worst Food and Service"

I have eaten at Annapurna many times. Please don’t believe the comment titled Worst Food and Service! First of all, if you want a mocha latte and a hot chocolate, go to a trendy coffee shop. If you want any kind of “fries”, go to a fast food place. These items are probably on the menu to try to please people that don’t eat healthy in the first place. The food served here is cooked according to Ayurveda, which is the traditional healing system of India. The food here is actually the closest I have come to the food I ate while in Southern India. If you are looking for greasy Indian food, this is not the place to go. If you are looking for food that is healing for the body, this is definitely the place! I eat here EVERY TIME I am in Albuquerque! Learing to eat to live rather than live to eat is a priceless lesson. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. The chai tea is outstanding. The mango lassi is wonderful.

Great Vegetarian Food!

I am not a vegetarian, but I do have to say I enjoyed this food. While on our vacation, we visited this lovely place and probably could have eaten here many more times just because of the huge cariety of menu items. Cardamom pancakes are great! The service is incredible and I highly recommend sitting out on the garden patio if you can!

Cardamom pancakes

Excellent seasoning—pancakes had been expertly blended and weren’t tough at all.

This is not a waffle house, from the south!

I just can’t help it…
Those people ate
1. hot chocolate
2. Mocha latte (hmmm,chocolate milk..)
3. two orders of pancakes
4. Tofu scramble
5. two deserts.

Are you from Florida? Georgia? Do you miss the waffle house? You want some fried chicken?

6. Did I say french fries?

that is hilarious! Annapurna is a treasure amoung all restaurants! A yummy place to eat, according to your dietary needs, but they don’t have fried chicken cuz….. Try eating some vegetables, you wacky vegetarians. I love this place, the pancakes are the bomb, and they don’t need syrup. You should have gone to McDonalds, did you take four people or two? Good ness gracious! 40$! You drove all they way across Texas with out eating! Good luck! It would be interesting to know what you think a good vegetarian restaurant is. Dennys? Hot chocolate, pancakes, pie, and french fries, you could even get a garden burger! I’m sorry it is just the combination that is funny. I love the food and variety, I eat there most every day, and so do many others! Put a little spice in your life! Try the kitchari!

Worst food and service ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

My fiancé and I travel all around the country looking for the best veg places to eat. We were so excited when we first arrived – the atmosphere is fun and kitschy. However, DO NOT be deceived. We started with a mocha latte and hot chocolate. Both were very bland and mediocre at best. We got an order of Masala Fries because they sounded unique but really they are just a fancy word for potatoes soaked in grease mixed with a little Indian spice – Yuk! As any vegan knows – breakfast (especially pancakes) are a rare find and definitely a treat. We got 2 orders of them which were 2 too many. They were like a very dry mix of clay and dirt. The mango sauce tasted like orange flavored cough syrup. When we asked for some maple syrup they were very rude and said they would have to charge us an additional ridiculous amount, on top of the $40 we had already spent. We passed on the syrup knowing it would have never improved the awful pancakes anyway. Unfortunately we also made the mistake of ordering the Tofu Scramble. I didn’t even know it was possible to screw up tofu to this degree – even the broccoli was bad. We also tried a couple of their vegan deserts which were dry and not even worth mentioning. All in all this was by far the worst food either of us has ever eaten. We left with all of our barely touched food on the table because it was so terrible we weren’t able to choke any of it down – such a disappointment especially after all of our initial excitement. I have never written a bad review for any vegetarian restaurant but in this case there is absolutely nothing positive that can be said and anyone who is thinking of trying this place needs to be forewarned. Trust us when we say – don’t waste your time or money. It’s mystifying this place is still in business.

This place had some of THE best hummus I’ve had in a while. Even though I am a meat eater, I found a lot of items on the menu that I would enjoy. It’s worth going just for the $1.50 Half Avocado. The Lebanese and Greek wraps were awesome.
