This is a RESTAURANT, not a TOURIST trap!
Reporting from SEATTLE… just before departing for home, I chose the ATHENIAN INN…Good choice, will make it a regular stop. Menu was varied, I wanted it ALL… but settled on the Monday Special – Philippine Steak (described below) I regret I didn’t get the waiter’s name, a red headed guy, was ver personable. Hey, that makes a difference. He seated me next to the window on the far right, a place that will now become the dominant place in my destination of dreams… when I really want to escape and become anonymous in a big city! Thankyou, Athenian Inn, and Red Headed waiter, for making not only my day, but almost the highlight of my trip! And hey, if you’re looking for Haute Cuisine, quit being such a cheap skate, this obviously isn’t the place. Go somewhere else and spend 5X more money, and quit your grumbling….

Philippine Steak
Marinated Beef Strips sauteed with onions, tomato, and peppers over rice, served with Athenian Seafood Chowder… hmmmm, now I wonder why I am stuck in such a hodock town when there are world class places like Seattle where restaurants like The Athenian Inn are!

Come for the view and not the food
Ok, I admit it. The food here is just ok. They have like the world’s largest menu but some items might be served maybe once or twice a day. High prices with small plates. The point is don’t come here for the food, come for the view because it is truly worth it. The Market overlooks the waterfront so too does the restaurant.
