Not a surprise considering the history

This location has a long history of being a dance, event, good food place. Since 1958. At first when I heard it was opening as the Bass Bay Brewhouse I expected another sports bar with wings and burgers. Super surprised common items could be given an entirely new tasty upgrade not to mention delightful new dishes. The wonderful gardens and gazebos located on the shores of Bass bay are an excellent place to wait as you have a drink or dine on the large outdoor patio

open face pork sandwich.

Moist perfectly seared and perfectly seasoned.

Classic American fare with a twist...fantastic!

I have twice now been to the Bass Bay Brewhouse and it has been fantastic each time. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated to give it a rustic wood-lodge look. The view of Bass Bay on Big Muskego Lake is lovely particularly at sunset. There is indoor and outdoor patio seating. I know they do banquets also but I have no experience of this aspect.

Service is also very good. On my most recent visit the restaurant was very busy, but Bass Bay was adequately staffed so once seated (there was short wait) we were met with an attentive and experienced server.

Then there is the food. To date I have sampled:
1. the French Onion Soup (flavorable, but nothing out of the ordinary)
2. Chicken Fried Chicken (which is seriously to die for. The black pepper gravy is wonderful)
3. Pot Roast (perfectly cooked beef, wonderful flavor along with the pearl onions, mashed potatoes, au jus, and carrots. The presentation was also extremely attractive)
4. Wisconsin Board (a nice sampling of meats, cheese, crackers and spread. The spreads are the highlight here, the meats and cheese good)
5. Walleye special on fish fry night (I sampled a taste. Really good flavor on the breading and cooked perfectly)
6. Mac & Cheese with Bacon (just plain yummy)

This is fast becoming a favorite place for dinner. Enthusiastically recommended!
