Bobbi's Coffee Shop

Even though I grew up in the area and passed by this place countless times, I’d never given Bobbi’s a try until today. Now I regret that I hadn’t discovered this comfortable breakfast spot sooner.

Bobbi’s, located at the intersection of Highway 85 and Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road has been a local fixture for 30+ years now, and there’s good reason for its longevity – they’ve got a great combination of good food, good prices and good, personable service.

The menu is simple and consists of standard American breakfast fare, and the ambiance is humble and cozy, but all the pieces come together well to provide a comfortable and pleasant dining experience. It’s a great place to catch up with an old friend or two.

Finally Bobbi’s reopened and looks and tastes better then ever with it new paint, flooring, outdoor patio, music and excellent food. We passed it heading home after a jog and decided to refuel. I ordered the huge malted Waffle smothered in cream and strawberries with 2 scoops of ice cream. They called it a waffle Churo and boy was it something of amazement. My pals got eggs and bacon as well as an omelet. They loved theirs and polished off the plates. Can’t miss getting a great meal here. Order anything you can’t lose.

I got up at 5am on Monday morning to treat myself to a nice breakfast. Drove over from San Jose and enjoyed talking the local regulars sitting at the bar. In hindsight, I noticed that none of them ordered food, just coffee and one man ordered Cherrio’s. I got the Bobbi’s special, scrambled eggs with mushrooms and onions and spinach. The waiter said they were out of spinach, so I said that was fine. By the time I ate just 1/2 of it, I wasn’t feeling too good. I paid my tab and heading to work. In the car 5 minutes and I thought I would throw up. Luckily, I carry Pau D’ Arco with me, an herb that can helps with nausea. I avoided throwing up, but ate only soup and a Sprite at lunch. It’s 5:30pm and I’m still sick and I’m going home now to sleep it off. I GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THEIR EGGS!!! I heard it had reopened and lots of people of come there for years. Well, I won’t ever do there again! I tried to call them, so others don’t get sick, but their phone number listed is disconnected.
