Bobby's Burger Palace Delivers on Great Flavor

When the Bergen Town Center was getting a new facelift, a lot of of business establishments were making this place its new home. One such place to make a tremendous splash was Bobby’s Burger Palace, owned by famed chef Bobby Flay. Opening day at this place was a zoo especially when Bobby Flay personally came for the entire week to promote this new burger joint.

Bobby’s Burger Palace falls in between a fast food restaurant like McDonald’s and a family sit down restaurant like T.G.I. Fridays. People line up and place their orders at the register (and believe me, the lines can be very long) and then go find a seat to sit while someone brings the order out to them. Seating arrangements range from sitting at the counter (ala diner style) or sitting at communal tables. That’s right, you never know who will be sitting beside you.

I love how the menu isn’t overwhelming at all. While waiting in line, a selection of burgers are listed for your eating pleasure. The best part is that they all cost the same no matter what one you order at $7.50 (with the exception of the Palace Classic Burger which is $1 less). A lot of the burgers are named after places such as the Napa Valley Burger, L.A. Burger, Santa Fe Burger, and Miami Burger to name a few.

There are two things I learned when ordering these burgers:

1) You have a choice of certified Angus beef, ground turkey, or chicken breast.
2) Any burger can be crunchified (the addition of crunched potato chips in the burger) for free.

But for those who are not into burgers or wish for something else, choices of sandwiches and salads are also available. One of the favorites in this establishment is the Crunch Salad that always makes an appearance at someone’s table.

The Sweet Potato Fries is another favorite as well as the Beer Battered Onion Rings. It’s a great way to complement a nice burger. I also appreciate that a Kid’s Meal is available.

And to top it off, milkshakes, malteds and fountain sodas are needed to complete the meal.

Are the burgers truly out of this world? For what this place is designed to do and the amount of traffic it receives, it’s better than average.I wouldn’t call it a true gourmet burger but it definitely has some great taste and appeal to it, and for those who know Booby Flay’s style he’s all about great taste.

I find myself visiting this place once a month when I have work outings at the mall. Expect to pay around $15.00 a meal if you order a burger, fries and drink. This is one of the establishments that we patronize and definitely enjoy. Bobby’s Burger Palace will definitely fill you up without even trying.

Napa Valley Burger

One of my favorites when I eat at Bobby’s consisting of fresh goat cheese, watercress and Meyer lemon honey mustard. I actually like this better as a chicken burger. The flavors are definitely nice and rich.

Sweet Potato Fries

I can’t go to Bobby’s without ordering sweet potato fries. The honey mustard horseradish sauce is a great complement to the sweetness of the fries giving it an added kick. Of course be prepared to find yourself struggling to finish this as there is a lot to consume.

Gourmet Burgers @ Bobby's Burger Palace

It was a big deal with Bobby’s Burger Palace opened up at Bergen Town Center. The line to get in to the place was absolutely long. While it isn’t as long as it was in the beginning, the wait to get in is still there. I finally decided to see what the fuss was all about.

The menu is very simple. It’s plastered on the wall while you move towards the cashier. You have the option of eating in or taking this out. The makes a difference because there are two separate lines for ordering in the manner.

All burgers are certified Angus beef. But for those that do not want to eat beef at all, you can choose ground turkey or chicken breast instead. All of a sudden the burgers that are listed just tripled in the amount that you can choose with your choice of meat.

I tried something simple with the Booby Blue Burger. I opted for the chicken breast that was topped with blue cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Since I asked if I wanted to crunchy my burger I said yes. It’s basically crushed potato chip sin your burger to add another layer of texture.

It’s a seat yourself place once you order with a lot of communal tables. That means you’ll be siting beside a complete stranger in need be. Servers will come and bring your food to you when it’s ready. I was pretty impressed with what I tasted in my burger. I also had to get a side of sweet potato fries to seal the deal.

I can see the attraction to Bobby’s Burger Palace. It falls somewhere in between fast food and casual dining. It’s not a bad place to dine if you can get a seat.

Designer burgers created by Bobby Flay…

So many different types of burgers are on the menu to choose from chicken, turkey and beef burgers . You should always crunchy your burgers. They put potato chips in it to give it a different texture. The line is always busy and seating is communal. It’s still best to eat the burger at the place rather than take it out. It doesn’t hold up as well. Lunch crowd is absolutely crazy. Go during midday if possible in between lunch and dinner.
