Great Sandwich at a Great Price
I’m not sure why I’m on such a sandwich kick. It’s probably good, gives my body a break from Burgers. Me eating a sandwich instead of a burger is like an alcoholic drinking a Zima instead of Whiskey. As I’ve said previously Bay Cities Italian Deli make the best sandwiches in LA (specifically The Godmother), but there’s always room for a number two. While Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop won’t be stealing clientele from Bay Cities it most defiantly will be stealing them from Subway, Togos and Quiznos.
Capriotti’s is set in a similar environment as the three big chain sandwich spots but it has a cooler vibe to it. Maybe it’s the brick wall or the laid back employees. It reminded me of Rubicon Deli in San Diego. Capriotti’s is quick service style and priced about the same as the rest of the chains. I really like that they offer sandwiches in three sizes; a small, probably two meals for the 95 pound anorexic actress and models walkin’ around LA. The medium is like a footlong and I didn’t see the large, it wasn’t really necessary. However, if I was high or sizequeen I’d be all over that large size. You know exactly what I’m talkin’ about. Awesome sandwiches
Capriotti’s is (wants to be known) for their turkey sandwiches and they don’t disappoint with The Bobbie. It’s turkey, cranberry and stuffing. Sounds odd, but it works really well. I’ve had a number of the others and have been satisfied with pretty much everything. The prices aren’t too bad either. I recommend calling in the order then going to pick it up or you might end up waiting for a bit.
Dishes Tried:
The Bobbie
Taste exactly like Thanksgiving in a sandwich. Turkey, stuffing and the ever important cranberry sauce. Great combo!
Cole Turkey
Despite the cole slaw, this sandwich actually tasted a bit dry to me.
Italian
Basic italian sub. Nothing too special, but good.
