Carmine's Ocean Grill & Sushi Bar

Honestly, this was the single WORST dining experience of my life, as well as everyone else in our party. If it helps, this is the first time I have ever been so upset after a meal that I felt the need to review it. We went to this restaurant for my sister’s 30th birthday with a party of 7. Once we were seated and served water, our waitress seemed irritated that we didn’t order additional drinks immediately and was rude. After collecting our meal orders, we never saw her again. The restaurant was only about 40% seated, so she was not swamped. The bread was empty, water glasses drained, and well over an hour later, still no food. We asked to speak to a manager (once we physically walked over to the bartender to request service). A manager never came. A waiter from another section came over and told us that the sushi chef was backed up, and that was the reason for our delay. We only ordered 3 pieces of sushi out of the entire party of seven. After 1 hour and 45 minutes of waiting, our meal came, and believe me, it was not worth the wait or the $165 tab. The restaurant at no point offered us an apology, an entree off the bill, or even an appetizer. Instead, they acted as though it were our fault that they were short staffed in the kitchen. We twice requested a manager, and were told to see her as we exited, that she’d be up front. Sure enough, as we left she was nowhere to be seen. I have never not tipped at a meal, and tonight we felt absolutely compelled not to. I wish we’d left the restaurant but changing venues with a party of 7 is difficult, especially if you are hungry. I would NEVER EAT HERE again, and I encourage you to select another restaurant as well. Absolutely horrendous.

Not impressed with the sushi. It did not taste fresh and was warm when served. We asked for the soup to be served with the boat for one of the guests but it was brought with the appetizer. After the dinner was brought the waitress never show up to ask it anything else was needed. I doubt that I will return.
