Chen's Wok Could be Better
I really enjoy oriental style take out – the tiny places tucked into various shopping centers where you don’t reallly expect to see them. This one is couple blocks up the street from King’s Wok. Naturally they have those same wonderful fold out menus with the oriental writing in one col. and English in the other. You call in, they take your order, you go get it, has that “warm oriental/sauce odor” … you’d think they’d all be alike — but NOT …this one is ok, but they just don’t have the same flavor. Too much MSG/Salt/Soy sauce, whatever, kind of swimming in it. Tried again recently, and it was still the same. Sorry, have to stick with King’s Wok down the street!
Dishes Tried:
House Lo Mein
I love my Lo Mein of any mixture (special, chicken, beef, whatever) but just toooo much msg here.
Beef & Snow Peas
The beef was a bit stringy and still too much saucy/soy/msg to it.
Chicken Fried Rice
came out a bit clammy tasting. though not as salty as the other dishes.
