Rv-ers (and others) "Heaven in a barrel"
All over the US in traveling, us RV-ers tend to drift toward easiest, most accessible spots – especially with big rigs that need room to navigate in and out and room to park (and most let you park overnight so you can be there for breakfast!) Except for some of the older locations, most Crackerbarrels are just that – you can see them from interstates, and usually about a zillion billboards telling you where they are with lots of space. (naturally at rush hours, it’s not always as simple as it sound). When we’re in the home area for any lenght of time (not on the move) we tend to forget about these little jewels that we take for granted on the highway! Our ‘regular’ CB over in Seffner near Lazy Days is good spot for when staying at the RV park, or stop for travelers – or locals – been there, it’s nice. This location in Lakeland is a good spot too – just a little harder to get to – set back in kind of a small maze with other businesses (hotels/motels and such) and you have to “waggle” to get in – fortunately, in the Jeep or truck, we didn’t have to worry about it. Just off I-4 in general area of favorite Publix store! My only problem with ALL the CrackerB’s is, you come in the door and the candles/incense/smell is pretty strong – they have lots of stuff to sell in that area, but I can’t “shop” because eyes end up watering. Once in the restaurant, you’re safe from that, just good cooking smells from the kitchen~ the food and service in most CB’s is really good —this one is no exception.
Dishes Tried:
CountryHouseSalad w/pot or soup
Had to add the dish name – one of their weekday “specials” …salad with chicken, bacon, cheese, onion – crispy, good … choice of potato or soup, i got the pot. with brocoli and cheese (small additional cost). double yum.
Omelette w/Ham n cheese & pancakes
If all else fails, husband goes for liver and onionzzz or ham and cheese omelette with pancakes. At CrackerB his fav. is usually ham and cheese om. with pancakes – this was no exception – the boy luvs his omelettes and CrackerB he’s a “happy camper” (once or twice I think he’s gone for the Oldtimers Breakfast!)
