Good Beer Guzzling Done at the Crescent City Brewhouse
The French Quarter in New Orleans offers many, many fine eating establishments but how many can say it also houses a great microbrewery? Crescent City Brewhouse can claim fame to that title. Everything brewed is done in-house allowing the place to control the quality of the beer. Crescent City Brewhouse brought back to whole idea of a brewpub to New Orleans. But what’s good beer with great food to go along with it? Crescent City Brewhouse offers that in spades.
The list of appetizers alone is enough to make a meal out of a couple of dishes. I have never had baked brie before so trying this was a first for me. What a delight! It’s aged brie baked and topped with an apple chutney. This is served with fresh fruit, roasted garlic and crispy French bread. The amount of flavors you taste in this one dish is absolutely amazing. The seafood andouille gumbo definitely brings the heat to your mouth. I also love the choice of mussels, crab cakes, calamari and oysters available for consumption.
Sandwiches and salads are also offered. Definitely try a corned beef cubano or a fried shrimp poboy for some great New orleans taste. Crab cake salad should be illegal because it tastes so good topped with feta cheese and a lemon champagne vinaigrette.
The entrée selection is plentiful with a great pasta jambalaya ready to be consumed. It has shrimp, crawfish, chicken and andouille sausage served with linguine.another favorite is the crabmeat stuffed shrimp served in a spicy way that will make your mouth dance with pleasure.
Of course let’s not forget about the excellent selections of beer. I like dark beer and the Black Forest suits my taste. If you don’t know which one to choose, then I recommend getting a sampler before deciding your poison of the day.
I have always said that pub food is probably the best deal anyone can get and Crescent City Brewhouse sets the bar even higher with it’s amazing beer selections and fantastic food.

Great food and even better beer!
While spending a few days in New Orleans, we stopped at Crescent City for dinner. We made a reservation, as there were 7 of us. My boyfriend and I love sampling different beers, so we started out with the beer sampler. We each received 5 samplings of their own brewed beer. Surprisingly, my favorite was the Black Forest. I ordered the crabmeat stuffed flounder. Others in our group ordered the grilled ribeye, red fish pontchartrain, grilled grouper on flatbread, and the fried shrimp po’boy. We all shared bites of our dishes with each other, and I really enjoyed the Grilled grouper on flatbread the best. Service was great, and if I ever find myself back in New Orleans, I will stop in for another Black Forest for sure!

Great place, great food.
A recent vacation took me to New Orleans which included sampling some of the local cuisine. The night started with a beer sampling of some of there in house brews. This included glasses of five of there house beers. I did not like all of them but three were very good. The entree I chose was a red fish and softshell crab which was very good! The service was very good as well. The waiter was very helpful with any of the questions about the dishes. I will say though that the menu prices were a little pricey but I would definately suggest this restaurant while visiting New Orleans.

Great service, great food, but you'll spend some money
This restaurant has a nice selection of French Quarter favorites, especially seafood, and all are professionally prepared. Since it is a brew pub, they have their own brews, but you can expect to pay a lot for them. Overall, it was a cute, comfortable restaurant combining the ambiance of the French Quarter with the down home flavors of a brew pub. It is a nice choice, but be sure to bring some money along with you. This side of the Quarter tends to be more expensive.
Check your tab before you tip. They add on a tip percentage for you. You may want to add more, but it is good to know how much you have already tipped before you do.

Baked Brie Appetizer
Outstanding, tasty beginning to a meal. I loved the garlic and the French bread.
Beer Garden Salad
It is a good salad for sharing with another. Very fresh with a nice mixture of flavores
Shrimp Papparedelle
We are vegetarian, so they left of the shrimp and bacon, but added peas. It was very rich and flavorful. If you like shrimp and bacon, you will love this dish. Even if you like it our way, the sauce was perfect and the noodles excellent. Not a low fat treat, but, when in New Orleans, enjoy a bit!
Red Stallion
This is their marquee microbrew and very nice.
