A Memorable Dining Experience in Paradise.

My wife and I recently took our 1st trip to Maui. Many great restaurants server the freshest fish imaginable. We were directed by locals to check David Paul’s Island Grill, and we were amazed. The views from the restaurant are breath taking. The service staff is friendly and personal. Food is reasonably priced and well prepared. Each dish has a unique presentation and no plate left our table empty. We left stuffed and spent under $100.00 on food. The owner/chef David Paul is not only serving these delights all night long, he also takes time to walk the restaurant mingling with the patrons. He is very personable and is quick to help you make a decision on a very diverse menu. We had such a great experience we decided to spend our last night at David Paul’s. Yes, it was only 3 days after our 1st visit, but the staff had remembered us and after a few minutes at our table, Chef David Paul was at our table chatting it up with us again. It was an outstanding dining experience and I cannot wait to get back to Maui.

Jalapeno Encrusted Ono

Out of this world. He took jalapeno peppers and turned it in to a breading. The flavor and spices complimented the fish and was not overwhelming.

We went with another couple on the restaurant’s second night open – a true test of a restaurant’s ability. The food, atmosphere, and service were phenomenal. David Paul knows how to play with flavors and textures to ensure that his food is not only beautiful but mouth wateringly unforgettable. The restaurant itself is beautiful in all aspects. When we saw the open kitchen, we were worried about the noise level. Not a problem. They installed clear glass so that diners can see into the kitchen but don’t have to compete with banging pots and pans. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of the food. Go, go go. You won’t be disappointed.

Seared Ahi with Foie Gras

The velvety texture of the foie gras was a perfect compliment to the ahi. Both were set atop a mixture of grilled veggies- purple potatoes, onions, and caramelized figs to name a few. Sounds weird, but unbelievably delicious.

Kobe Short Ribs

Rich and succulent with intense flavor. This dish was a winner not only with the guy who ordered it, but with the entire table.
