Delancey Street Bagels

I just moved into the area and heard about how great the bagels were here so I was very excited to check it out, I waited about 20 minutes just to get my order and while I was waiting I heard the employees in the back and behind the counter gossiping about customers!! Maybe talk a little lower next time? Or they just don’t care? There are like 20 kids working behind the counter and it is total chaos! You have no idea where to order or where to pick up your order. When they finally screamed my name and slammed the tray down on the counter and walked away, I realized I had gotten the wrong order and honestly did not want to approach the employees because they were already extremely rude. I decided to say something because of the 13.00 sandwich I ordered and all I got was a confused face and was told that that is exactly what I had ordered. I just walked away with my order and sat down. The seats and walls and pretty much everything else in this place was filthy, I mean downright disgusting. The tables were wobbly and the booths were torn and were lined with crumbs and smears of old cream cheese. All of a sudden I hear this guy yelling and not only was he yelling, he was cursing! I’m not sure if he was the owner or a manager but I am guessing the owner since he was considerably older than the rest of the employees and not wearing the t shirts all of the other kids were wearing. This guy was yelling at one of the employees by the coffee station calling him an idiot and I really don’t remember the rest because I was so in shock. After researching the website, I figured this guy must be the owner. This is just incomprehensible to me being a business owner myself, I’m surprised this guy is still in business with the way I saw him treat one of his employees. I will never return here.
