Golden Garden Restaurant

The Golden Garden lives up to my high standards for Asian cuisine. Their culinary delights encompass Korea’s healthy and very flavorful food. The staff are actually Korean immigrants and can be a little difficult to understand, but they are very friendly and they do their best to communicate. After ordering, we had quite a long wait for our food, but when we saw what was coming, it was worth it. Our servers brought a dozen different side dishes to our table. Mostly vegetables were brought to us, turnips, dandelion greens, kim chee, spicy cabbage, and even my favorite, fried squid, which tastes a little like chicken that had been marinated with honey and then dried. My dinner companions and I found conversation easily as we shared from dishes. We were given our own rice bowls along with the entree that we ordered.
The restaurant is set up so that the kitchen can be seen from the front and it is immaculately clean. The dining room itself could use some revamp in the decor and the lights were a little too bright, but the cleanliness made up for the out-of-date motif.
The food tasted like it was freshly pulled from the garden that morning.
I must make this small warning though, if you are on a budget, keep in mind that it does look a little pricey on the menu, but when you see the amount of food that you are getting and taste it, you will definitely see where that money is going.
BTW: I took some home as left overs and I found out that Kim-Chee cannot be reheated, it just doesn’t taste good the second time around. However, the squid is even better on the second day.
