Beautiful Restaurant! Excellent location, upon my entrance for lunch i was swiftly escorted to a table by the hostess, beautiful dining room and love the tavern. Server was very knowledge and attentive, having everything way in advance to the table. Started off with the Jerusalem artichoke soup, very excellent, beautiful knife cuts on the Ajo peppers and sweet potatoes. A bit creamy-very interesting and delicious. Because I am a friend of the sous chef, for the second course they sent out a Smoked Trout with pickled onions…VERY delicious, my favorite course. Beautiful colors and presentation, the pickling complemented perfectly with the trout-but you still got the smoking of the trout with the pickling flavor. Next i had a delicous chicken dish with fall vegetables-crispy golden skin, very delicious. For dessert i was served a absoulutely magnificent Goat Cheese Cheesecake with concord grape sorbet-mangificent!!!! The sorbet was very tart-could not be eaten byself but was deliciously paired with the cheesecake. I was also served a pumpkin cake..superb. Upon the conclusion of the meal i was given a tour of the kitchens…beautiful space and very roomy. Amazing restaurant, definetely recommend going!

MUCH much better than it used to be. Love the short rib ravioli. Beware of undercooked hangar steaks though – the medium rare is a bit too tartare for most people…Pappardelle is good but a teensy bit on the tough side. Excellent service.

Phenomenal Service, Great Atmosphere, Good Food too!
I can’t rave enough about the level of service you get when you come here. They are quite attentive and will essentially bend over backwards to accommodate your every whim and desire. My group of 8 wanted to dine in the Tavern Room (more casual area as opposed to the more formal dining room) but since they didn’t have tables that could seat 8, they put us at 2 neighbouring tables for 4.
The food and drink were definitely what was needed after a full day of activities. When one of the drinks we ordered wasn’t up to snuff, the waitstaff immediately pulled it away and offered any replacement at no charge. Offering suggestions on the menu and the wine list, the level of service is really something that all restaurants should aspire to.
I’m going back every single time I head to NYC!
