Honda Ya
izakaya in tustin. imagine a gill/pub in japan but in tustin. authentic atmosphere, run by japanese owners, with all kinds of decorations. Theres bar seating, table seating, and a tatami room. it features kirin on tap and a grip of other harder drinks. the food selection is pretty vast, they have pretty much anything japanese you can think of, except curry. the highlight is the yakitori, you check off what you want on what looks like a paper sushi menu, except its for little bbq on a stick, pretty good stuff. the draw back is that there is always a wait, but its open till 1am so at least youll get to eat. but you put you put your name on a list kind of like at shin sen gumi, and then you wait for them to call you. also good place if its your birthday (they have the scariest happy birthday music) and on halloween everyone dresses up and you get free beer if you dress up. look to spend around 15$ to 30$ depending on how many pitchers you get.
Dishes Tried:
Bacon wrapped cherry tomato
3 cherry tomatoes on a stick with bacon, nice bbqy taste.

guaranteed satisfaction
Great prices, fresh product, authentic taste, relaxing environment, and above all, selection. This restaurant has been on the top of me and my girl’s restaurant list for the past 2 years.
Upon your first experience at this place, not only will the tatami floor (where you have to take off your shoes and basically sit on the floor) intrigue you, but the menu itself brings something to the customer that many other Japanese restaurants attempt to accomplish but lack completely. Besides the obvious teriyaki and sushi plates, Honda-Ya offers a variety of constantly changing specials, a grill menu (our personal favorite, where they charge you per stick at a very affordable price running between 1 to 5 dollars), large selection of drinks, and a great desert to top it off.
Honda-ya is the type of restaurant someone would take a date if they were trying to impress the other person with their great taste, rather than with a deep pocket.
Dishes Tried:
Pork belly, chicken gizzard, cow tounge
As nasty as these items sound, they are featured in the grill menu. Each stick running around 3 dollars. Accompanied with rice, these sticks are wonderful. trust
Hamachi Sashimi
Freshest yellowtail you will taste
steak with mushroom
also on the grill menu, highly recommended
apple eggroll desert
dont really remember the name or the price, but this with the ice cream it was accompanied with was delish!
