Not a Bad Place for Ribs
We first tried a half order of the onion rings which was still a huge portion. It wasn’t greasy and tasted just great with the hot sauce that came with it. The two of us couldn’t finish it all.
For the sides, I loved the Baked Bean dish and the Potato Salad was just OK. My wife tried the pulled pork and wasn’t too crazy about it; but then again, she’s not really a BBQ kind of gal. The service was a little slow at first, and then it was more attentive. The prices are fair for the value received.
Dishes Tried:
two-meat dinner
I tried the two-meat dinner, ribs and smoked turkey. The rubbed ribs were very meaty but not the best that I’ve tasted. The ribs lacked that really robust smoky flavor and needed a little more kick in the spice rub that I crave, but they were meaty and the portion size was adequate. What really helped was using the add-on sauce. I tried the one squirter labeled “Hot” and it was hot and very GOOD. For the second meat, a relative of mine really liked the smoked turkey, so I tried it but thought it was a little dry and tasted not so smokey.
