Sushi at Kabuki is always safe, it's a chain...
Sushi at Kabuki is always safe, it’s a chain that caters to a lot of Americans who like the normal tasting sushi. Real Japanese sushi restaurants are much diffferent, therefore Kabuki’s sushis might not be as authentic but not saying they’re not good. Kabuki never disappoints and service at this particular Kabuki is great. The one on Colorado, not so much.

Had a Sushi Craving
There is no denying this is a franchise chain and when you’re in a pinch and are craving sushi, this is a pretty decent place to go to. Its not authentic and obviously caters to the more mainstream crowd, but the quality of food is pretty darn good. The color, meat density and portion of the fish are really good. (Seriously, the deep magenta color of a good tuna is just the most beautiful thing ever!)
Great place for sashimi lovers and those afraid of raw anything. Portions are pretty decent and the menu is incredibly inventive. Hmm, lychee mojitos? I’m kicking myself for not ordering that but dang, 12 noon is a bit early to start drinks right? My cousins and I tried a sushi roll we had never had before called the Lotus roll which is baked lobster meat over a california roll. Dang that was good! BUT, it was only 4 pieces.
Ok, here’s why I dinged it 2 stars. Its pretty damn good, but its not the kind of place I’d crave to go back to. Also the service….sigh, it’s all the same regardless of location ~ waiters are almost always inattentive and rude. I also dislike that I gotta order a bowl of white rice a la carte. For real?
