The Tofu-fu is strong with this one
The topic of last night’s first world dillema starts off like this: “Let’s go out out to eat.” “Ok, where?” “Japanese? Nah, we’re going there next week for a birthday dinner. Mexican? Nah, we just came back from SoCal. Brazilian? Nah, too expensive and unjustified for such a quick plan. Korean? hmmmmm.” We finally settled on Kong Tofu, a semi new joint in the Stevens Creek Verde/ElephantBar/Harumi’s plaza.
Upon entering, I noticed a mural artwork by “E.K”, a possible old classmate of mine. I thought that was pretty neat. This place is a lot bigger than I had originally judged it from the outside.
Food: The panchan was a good variety, I counted broccoli, beansprouts, noodles, Kimchi, radishes, and were refilled quickly. I ordered the beef tofu soup, which was pretty good, lots of chunks of tofu and beef inside. They do not dilute the soup which I have had experiences of places doing.
Service: Service was top notch. Not sure if rice refills cost extra $$ (In many other places I have been to they have always charged for this), but our nice Korean server lady did it for free. How nice of her. Another gauge was my water (if you notice in previous reviews I always guage a restaraunt’s service by their water refills since I drink water like a fish) was always refilled on time. woop woop.
Bill came out to be $13 with tax and tip, very reasonable.
I think this will be my go-to place to get my Korean fix from now on.
