La Chaumiere

red peppers stuffed with crab wrapped in a half canoe of leaf lettuce. The lettuce is arranged such that the rolls are for the patron’s eyes only. When eaten like a burrito, the symphony of tastes are something to behold. After the Amuse Bouche, this prequel to the meal left me wanting more. Incredible

Scallops seared perfectly and cooked to perfection. The prosciutto complemented all the flavors of spice, oil, and scallop so nicely; not over powering at all.

Signature soup for this restaurant. Everyone claims you must try the Lobster Bisque here. I have had it before, and it did not disappoint this time either. Prepared in the dining room on a cart, it is served quite hot with subtle spice. I had to add salt to my dish, but the taste was exquisite.

7 minute Chocolate cake. The cake is baked so that the center is left uncooked but still warm. Served with ice cream and variety of berries. The icing sugar could probably be left off the top of the cake, but is necessary for image. Quite tasty, not too sweet.

The peppercorn sauce was good, and the tenderloin was cooked to perfection. My only gripe about the dish was the quality of meat. I found the tenderloin quite tough if you can fathom. I am used of more of a “kick” with peppercorn sauces. Since this was a “dinner special”, I am unsure if it will make it to the main menu. If you want steak, french cuisine is not your place.
