Good place for a mixed taste group

I’ve been coming to Louise’s here and in downtown Milwaukee since they opened. This is a great place to take people who can’t decide what to eat. There is something for everyone. My folks rave about the chop salad. The pizza’s are fire roasted. The pasta is fresh. The environment is cheery and modern with out over doing it.

Portabella Mushroom Pizza

Wood-roasted portabella mushrooms, roasted garlic, gorgonzola and four Italian cheese, with sliced basil. Thin crust, fresh mushrooms. garlic could have been roasted a tad longer. Toss some parmesian on top if you wish.

National Garlic Day Celebration

Louise’s is a fun place to meet with friends to celebrate National Garlic Day. The food was tasty and the conversation lively. The service was very good, especially considering it was a large group. The acoustics were a bit tentative, however.

Brunch... ugh

Everything was great… nice place, great service, good coffee… but then we got our food.

Portobello Mushroom at Louise's

Portobello Mushroom

The mushroom itself was good… not overdone and still firm, but whatever they marinated it in was so heavy on the vinegar that I couldn’t taste anything else. And while I like my asparagus on the slightly crispy side of al dente, I’m not sure that this wasn’t straight up raw (and cold to prove it). Don’t know what happened to the caramelized onions… those were obviously raw too and just thrown on the top as an afterthought; while on the other end of the spectrum, the “poached” eggs were so overcooked they might as well have been hardboiled. But the coffee was good, the service was excellent and the ambiance was nice… so it wasn’t a total loss

Bloody Mary at Louise's

Bloody Mary

Boring… all the yummy stuff that makes a bloody a bloody was barely noticeable, so pretty much tasted like tomato juice. But props on the garnish.

Good brunch spot

The Sunday our group went to Louise’s it was not too crowded so we got top notch service.
They offer the standard mimosa and bloody mary but also a couple special ‘brunch’ drinks if you like that as a starter.
Although their brunch menu selection is limited, all of the food was quite good and nicely portioned.
They were very attentive and the food was good, I would recommend Louise’s in Brookfield.

only okay

a strange expierience, i liked the enviornment of the building, our server was very friendly. we ordered the calimari which was very bland and rubber like. our pizza was so doughy and thin that you had to hold the small slice with 2 hands so it wouldnt flop down.

we sat at a round booth near where the servers convene and right after we paid our bill a bigger fellow spoke to our server and i overheard him being pretty condesending about empty bread basket on our table, to which our server immediatley came to our table to pick it up, and again wished us a good day. i felt bad for him and re wrote a better tip. the food was okay and filling but not at good value. and i wanted to speak to the manager about lightening up on his staff but didnt. i would consider going back.
