Magnolia Grill

Do you like shitty diner food? I do, that’s why I heartily endorse Magnolia Grill. I say shitty, but that’s not really true, it’s just not fancy. It reminds me of what Waffle House could be if it opened up in the Quarter – and I LOVE Waffle House. I’ve had the burger and some sort of pasta-ey dish, and the red beans and rice and chicken sandwiches. I’ve never really left disappointed or unsatisfied, but that’s primarily because I’ve never gone in with great expectations. They don’t faggot up the food with a lot of fancy ingredients or over-complicate their french fries with truffle oil or exotic cheeses. It’s just solid, simple, time-tested recipes and reasonably decent service (by New Orleans’ standards).

Protip: Turbodog by the pitcher makes everything better.
